Now you know from part 4 of this mini series that proper training is important if you are to get the results. If you read part 1, part 2, and part 3, you’ll also know the first reason you aren’t getting results in the gym is because you aren’t progressing your workouts, the second is that you aren’t tracking your progress, and the third is that your nutrition isn’t dialed in.
So what’s reason number 5?
Wait for it…
You’re not being patient…
No, seriously, that’s the reason.
We live in a world of instant gratification and I’d say impatience is probably one of the most important factors of success in any goal – not least a health and fitness related one.
In pursuit of any health and fitness goal, you need to be willing to give it time.
It often concerns me when a new client comes to me and says they are going to really smash it for the next 3 months, because they already have an end date in their mind.
Firstly, you need to accept that no matter what your goal is, you might not see results straightaway.
Secondly, you will most likely experience some ups and downs, where you’ll see less progress at some times and more progress at others. Weight loss is never a straight line.
The best piece of advice I can give you, is to try not to think of this as a short term fix. I can help you to reframe your mindset to embrace this journey as part of your everyday life.
Work that little bit smarter, and don’t stop because consistency pays off.
Try not to be one of those people who constantly stops and starts and never really gets to where they want to be.
