Did you know that nutrition is fundamental to preventing chronic inflammation, preventing disease and losing weight?

Did you know that most of us are bombarded by toxins every day?

Did you know that many of us have an intolerance that results in inflammation?

We Kill Our Food. Then Revive It

Foods we eat as a modern human in the developed world are often not that great for us and can result in chronic inflammation in our bodies.

Foods we buy have often been adulterated in some way that results in the food becoming a ‘food like product’ that the human body – which has developed over millions of years – is not built to digest.

The result is chronic inflammation.

Even the foods we eat that we may consider to be traditional, may well not be considered ideal from the perspective of our digestive system.

Yes we have been eating wheat for thousands of years, but modern food manufacturing means it is often pummeled and processed so much that it has lost its enzymes and nutrients.

Many manufactured and highly processed foods can even be described as an anti-nutrient.

So much processing means vitamins and minerals are often added to manufactured products in an attempt to replace some of the lost nutritional value of the food – nutrient density.

I know I have seen in myself and my clients a huge change by eliminating wheat alone. Better sleep, weight loss, more energy, better athletic performance.

Common Food Intolerances and Toxins

  • Wheat
  • Gluten
  • Processed Foods
  • Colouring
  • Artificial Sweetners
  • Trans Fats

Omega Balance

Modern living can be held accountable for adjusting our natural fat intakes, which causes inflammation.

Our bodies have adapted to consume a ratio of omega 3 and omega 6 fats in a ration of 1:1 or almost equal.

Modern farming practices that feed animals grain, mean the animals now have excess omega 6 lipids in their meat. Compared to grass fed cattle and wild meat which would have had a more omega 3 balanced blood lipid profile.

To compound this we are fed by food giants – manufacturing companies that want to create cheap food with an unctuous texture that is addictive.

So we buy more.

But wait. Almost all processed foods have cheap omega 6-rich vegetable oil in their ingredients.

Omega 6 is an essential fatty acid and we need to consume it because our bodies do not synthesise omega 6 fats.

However.

The result of this excess omega 6 presence in modern human’s diet means we now consume a ratio of 10:1 and even 20:1 of omega 6 to omega 3.

This imbalance means many of us are chronically inflamed and many many health complaints including weight gain can be attributed to this.

Effects Of Chronic Inflammation

  • Neurological – Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s
  • Cardiovascular
  • Chronic Inflammatory – IBS, Skin complaints
  • Bone problems – osteoporosis, arthritis
  • Cancer – many
  • Metabolic disease – diabetes, liver function,

How To Combat Chronic Inflammation

1. Consume oily fish – line caught
2. Consume grass fed, organic meat, and game
3. Eat lots of vegetables, nuts and seeds
4. Avoid grains like the plague
5. Take omega 3 supplements
6. Avoid omega 6 vegetable oils – processed foods
